License terms

License Terms

Ruben Stom Design offers three types of license: a personal license, a commercial license and an extended commercial license. The nature of each license depends on the kind of product. In general: The personal license, as the name suggests, is for personal use only. One single commercial license allows for the use of the templates in one commercial project only. The extended commercial license allows for the use of the templates in any number of commercial projects. Templates may be offered to various customers, without the necessity of buying additional licenses ever again.

With a commercial license or an extended commercial license, templates may be resold. However, ‘end products’ may never directly compete with the products by Ruben Stom Design. Therefore Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign files may not be shared. There is no objection to sharing end products which can no longer be adjusted - in, for instance, .jpg, .png and (flattened) .pdf files. In addition the designs must be edited to a certain extend.

Commercial License

The commercial license allows you to use the portfolio templates in one single commercial project, which means that edited versions may be used for a commercial project of one’s own or offered for sale to a customer. However, it is important that the ‘end product’ offered does not directly compete with the products by Ruben Stom Design. Therefore it is not allowed to share the Adobe InDesign files. There is no objection to sharing end products which can no longer be adjusted by third parties (e.g. by sharing the files as .jpg, .png or (flattened) .pdf). In addition the designs must be edited to a certain extend, therefore pictures of unedited portfolios are not permitted.

The commercial license allows for a maximum of 50.000 printed copies.

As stated before: the portfolio templates may be used in one single commercial project. In order to use them for more than one commercial project additional commercial licenses are required or an extended commercial license.
